What does that button do again?

For a person that has never really written a blog before, the first post seems like kind of a daunting task. I guess I must first pose the question, “Why do I have a blog, and what am I going to do with it?” Well for starters, this is probably a good place to keep everyone updated on the progress of how my business is coming along, and my various musical endeavors and other stuff I deem necessary to share with the world. I guess that’s a good a place as any to start.

Well, my MacBook decided it didn’t want to start today. Completely awesome, as that is pretty much the only outlet I have to tack down my musical ideas before they disappear. That is unless you count packing up most of my stuff and running up to north Arlington to record with Trinity as a quick alternative. Seeing as I was already there, the musical madness continued, and progress was made none the less.

Progress…if you could really call it that. It’s the same progress we’ve had for the past, I don’t know, two years chipping away at music. What is our end goal? Some of you may have heard that there is a new Spiderman movie in the works; new actors, new story, new everything. They’ve decided that they want to “reboot” the series and get a fresh start. That is our end goal: a “reboot”, a fresh start…a New Beginning. So what does that mean for us? It means restarting from the ground up, with everything.

We weren’t satisfied with the outcome of our first cd. Everything was rushed, everything was just…wrong. Wrong sound, wrong direction, wrong program…just wrong. We didn’t like how anything sounded on our first EP, so much that it almost hurts to reference it.

Trinity and I have taken our time this time around, making sure that we get things right. And over the past couple of years, we think we’ve found the right formula. With that in hand, I want to tentatively say that we are pushing to put out another cd. We’ve got some ideas floating around, and a commitment to follow through, not making the same mistakes we made last time, the biggest of which being: rushing things. This is going to take a while, and we are happy with that. The more time it takes, is more time we have to tweak, alter, and generally make everything better.

It’d just be nice to have my studio back, so I didn’t have to drive so much to contribute, lol. Oh well, hopefully I’ll get my laptop back next week.

That’s probably all I have to say for now. Some of that may have been kind of confusing unless you look at my face on a daily basis. So I’ll be sure to throw in a few stories soon, including the origins and declination of Eastchase, some of my business ventures, some of my musical endeavors

and some of the other stuff I do that makes me who I am.

Until next time, keep your chin up, and keep your ears sharp.
